Installation of structural steel of the overpass superstructure above the railway tracks of Warsaw direction was completed at the traffic interchange of Moscow - St. Petersburg M-11 Highway and the Ring Road around Saint Petersburg. The works were performed at night time to minimize interference with the railway traffic. Within 4 hours allocated for the spans installation, the workers had to install a multi-ton structure and also attach cables of a catenary system to that structure. A 56-ton block of the entrance ramp to M-11 Highway from the Ring Road was installed on Tuesday, and a 84-ton block of the exit ramp in the direction of Murmanskoye Highway (Kola Highway) - on Wednesday.
A powerful LTM 1500-8.1 crane with a lifting capacity of 500 t was used for installation of the structural steel. All the works were carried out without any emergencies.
