START OF SUPERSTRUCTURE INSTALLATION AT THE OVERPASS RAMP ACROSS THE RING ROAD

Installation of structural steel of the overpass superstructure is currently ongoing at the ramp across the Ring Road of the traffic interchange to be constructed at Moscow - St. Petersburg M-11 Highway.

The ramp across the Ring Road is one of four ramps of the interchange of M-11 Highway and the Ring Road around Saint Petersburg. 238 m long overpass will allow vehicles to enter M-11 Highway from the Ring Road on the side of Tallinskoye Highway.

The installation of structural steel of the superstructure is performed using launching method, i.e. each assembled span is launched onto piers by moving it along rails with the use of winches equipped with guide pulley for ropes. The total weight of structural steel of the superstructure of the ramp across the Ring Road will exceed 500 tons.

Currently, over 100 tons of structural steel of the superstructure is installed, i.e. 2 out of 6 launching stages are completed. Pre-assembling of structural steel for subsequent launching stages has been proceeded with.

The interchange of M-11 Highway and the Ring Road is being constructed near the interchange with the Pulkovskoye Highway. The interchange will link M-11 Highway with all the districts of Saint Petersburg through the Ring Road and the WHSD (the Western High-Speed Diameter). The interchange of M-11 Highway and the Ring Road includes 4 ramps with a total length of 4.59 km.
