Drivers have taken advantage of using contactless payment methods

Over the past two weeks, the number of drivers paying in banknotes for passing across M-11 Highway has decreased. In early April, only 10% of drivers paid in cash when leaving the Highway.

Preferring cashless payment is one of the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus: an infection can be transmitted through a banknote. That's why at the very beginning of the epidemic, Two Capitals Highway applied to users for switching to contactless payment methods, such as, a transponder, a bank card or gadgets equipped with the NFC option.

At the end of the week from April 6th to April 12th, only 10% of drivers used cash to pay for passing across M-11 sections from St. Petersburg to Myasnoy Bor. As a comparison, in February the share of those who paid in cash was 12%. Thus, one in six drivers who had previously used banknotes switched to contactless payment methods.

Two Capitals Highway is taking all possible measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus. Cashier operators at toll plazas are provided with disposable masks, gloves and disinfectants for hand and surface treatment. Offices and public areas are continuously wet cleaned with the use of special disinfectants.

Observe safety precautions and stay home, if possible! Only through joint efforts can we cope with the epidemic!
